Guided tour June 18 - 24, 2024.

In cooperation with Red Hill Birding. Western South Dakota is a classic summer vacation destination. The abundance of public lands, dotted with famous tourist attractions, provides a fantastic cross section of landscapes, birds, and Americana. This trip will take in Badlands National Park, with its incredible rock formations; the Black Hills, an outpost of the Rocky Mountains which reach an elevation of over 7,000 ft; and the vast Great Plains north of the Black Hills. Western birds feature heavily, with iconic birds like American Dipper and Lark Bunting, and an excellent diversity of raptors and many birds typical of the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains.
