Come discover one of the lesser visited Calumet area parks, Hegewisch Marsh! While not as popular as nearby Big Marsh, Hegewisch Marsh boasts outstanding habitat and is one of the most reliable breeding locations for the state endangered Common Gallinule. The trail is compacted mulch and lined with vernal ponds, so wear waterproof footwear. We'll walk through the woodland, marsh, and along the Calumet River as we celebrate the beginning of peak migration! Duration of walk: 7:30am-10:30am.

Meet at Hegewisch Marsh Park at 7:30am. Parking is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/wUkU4cKTnS2tr9vS6
