NEW FIELD TRIP: Techny Basin

Look for migrating shorebirds and ducks and whatever else we can find.  Meet behind the Sheraton Hotel on the north side of Willow road at 7:30 a.m. To get to Techny Basin, turn north from Willow Rd. onto Founders Drive, then turn left into the Sheraton Hotel parking lot and park as far west as you can to find our meeting spot.  If you have a scope, please bring it.  Register with Field Trip Chair Libby Hill at libbyhill@comcast.net so we know to expect you.  Leader:  Owen Woodhouse. Owen is one of the young birders who will be leading some of our future field trips.

Plum Creek Forest Preserve SPACE AVAILABLE

Plum Creek Forest Preserve.  Directions: We will meet at 7:30 in the main forest preserve parking lot, on the east side of Burnham Avenue, south of Sauk Trail.  Return to Evanston by 12:30, or stop for lunch on the way home.  Plum Creek FP is about an hour south of Evanston, via Rte 94/394/Sauk Trail. Detailed directions will be provided before the trip. 

 Limit 6-8 participants.  Leader:  Josh Engel.
